You’ve finally decided to splash out and buy a plasma TV.  Now what?  The next step in building that perfect entertainment centre is to pick out the plasma TV furniture that will complement the sleekness of the plasma design.  Here is a brief guide to help get you started.

One of the first issues that you need to think when deciding on your plasma TV furniture  is the mounting options.  There are basically three different types of mounting systems available: Ceiling mounts, wall mounts and furniture mounts.  Before you decide which is right for you, you should first consider the TV’s applications.  Do you plan on using the monitor in a small space, for example, in a bedroom or a small living room, or do you plan on inviting all of your friends over to watch the big game in your den?  Furniture mounts, as their name implies, will allow you to mount a small-screened plasma TV on a table or dresser top.  Likewise, a wall mount is a more appropriate choice, if you want to mount a larger plasma monitor on a wall.

Ceiling

mounts have a slightly different application, however, as its main purpose is to suspend the monitor from the ceiling at a slight angle.  This is a great choice, for those who intend to operate the TVs in an office or other public place.  These types of mounts often offer split mounting options and can come in a variety of colours, like glossy black or silver.

Chances are, however, that you will choose a mounting option that will let you watch your favourite shows at home.  Depending upon what sort of components you have, you may want to consider a furniture mount, which will be complimented by a video and plasma display stand, which will not only provide you with the necessary shelving units to stylishly store and display your DVD player and VCR, but also give you additional space to store your discs and videocassettes.

As plasma TVs and monitors grow in popularity, so will the choices for affordable stylish plasma TV furniture with which to showcase your home entertainment centre.  You’ve invested a lot of time and effort into choosing your TV, so make sure that you have the correct mounting system and furniture to complement and protect your investment.
